Tips for Installing Home Bowling Alley Lanes

Tips for Installing Home Bowling Alley Lanes

Are you a bowling fanatic? If you love bowling so much that you participate in bowling tournaments, then you should consider yourself a bowling enthusiast. If this is the case, then you should install home bowling alleys.

Dimensions for Private Bowling Lanes

If you have the budget, a large space at home, and an unending love for bowling, you can always arrange to have a professional install a bowling alley in your home. Most home bowling alleys include two lanes, though it’s possible to build more. You will need an experienced builder for this, and an architect can be a valuable asset as well.

Make sure you have the requisite space for the lanes; you’ll need an area that’s at least 100 feet long. The minimum width required for two lanes is 14 feet, and the ceiling should as well be 14 feet high.

Professional bowling companies can install two regulation lanes for you. These lanes should come with pinsetters, ball-return systems, and computer scoring, so you’ll need plenty of space in your home for all that!

If you want an efficient ball-return system under the lanes, keep the lanes close to floor level if possible. You could also build up the foundation using an I-Beam; these are used in commercial bowling alleys. To install one, you’ll generally need between 17″ and 18″ of free space close to the lanes. Contact an architect and designer to have things properly planned for construction, and make sure these professionals can attend the job site here and there.

How Long Is a Bowling Lane?

If you’ve ever seen a bowling lane before, you know they’re quite long. This is why you’ll need a lot of space if you want a home bowling alley. Having more than enough space ensures that you and your friends can lounge around comfortably, perhaps on a beautiful sofa. Put in some coffee tables for drinks and you’re all set!

And don’t forget to let natural light come in through large windows!
